Can someone assist me in setting up a VPN on my smartphone/tablet using the VPN client on a DSL-AC68U?

I've clicked the VPN section on the ASUS GUI, Created a username and password.

I then open my phone and add a VPN, I type the name as Home, Server address as it lists on the VPN setup and select PPTP. It then saves it. I click it and put in my username and password then click connect. Is that right?

All I seem to get is unsuccessful. I'm guessing I'm missing settings somewhere?

I've tried following guides online but still getting no where. I've tried setting it up by enabling the DDNS client but that too gives unsuccessful. Any help will be appreciated.

Ah OK. I managed to get it to work using PPTP and now trying to setup the Open VPN. I've created the config and imported it to the openvpn app, put in the username and password but still no connection.

Right it has kicked into life. I tested the PPTP VPN with checking my IP address and when going through the vpn, It changes my IP however when using openvpn it does not? Any reason why?

Can you post a screenshot of the advanced settings page?

"Direct clients to redirect Internet traffic" should be set to yes.

i had the same problem with my ac68u and android, when using the official OpenVPN client showmyip would always show the mobile ip.

i installed this one OpenVPN for Android had the same problem until i changed a setting but can't remember exactly which one.

something in "ip and dns" or "routing" i think, my dsl is dead atm so can't check myself.

I'll have a play about with it when I get back to the uk. It was just quickly setup before I left. If you manage to remember before then, please feel free to post.

Ok all setup now following the pic posted above by KIA. Tested by checking whatsmyip and it now shows my home IP address. Thanks for the help!!
