Asus website is stupidly slow.

As title really, I have seriously lost patience trying to get drivers off that website. I only get a connection to it of 5-20k and then it has a habit of cutting me off when I near the 90% mark (which takes an hour to get to :rolleyes:

)

Are there any other Asus sites where I can get them from, I think I have seen people post bios' from the Asus Taiwan site but I can't get on that either due to a login screen.

I am looking for the AI-Suite and Soundmax software for the P5K-E Wifi.

I admit your right in saying it is slow, 99% off the time it is, when I was getting some sound drivers for the onboard last week, the speed was at 100kbps plus so tried the two off five and same results, this is a first to get that speed :-)

ps not for this m/b the p5wd2 premium also have a p5nd2

What time were you downloading?... 4.50AM?

I would be grateful of a consistent 10kbps at the moment. I have tried the Global, USA, Europe, China and Japan servers and they are all crap.

nope about 5 pm also just did a download test for your sound card drivers and got 50 kbps maybe my isp with idnet is a factor here :-)

I've suspected for years that the Asus website is hosted from a dialup connection.

Thats strange, I am with 02 8mb and its been slow all day.

I know its not my net as I am currently re-downloading my steam games and thats at 834kbps.

SoundMAX Audio Driver v6.10.1.6280 for 32bit Windows Vista (WHQL)& v6.10.2.6280 for 64bit Vista(WHQL
started at 450kbps then to lowest off 227kbps.

ps this driver is for your mb

I went on the US one and it was really fast.... but can't seem to get on to any other ones...

I agree with that, I have always had troubles when it's come to getting the latest drivers and software.

They are a massive company though, thats what I don't understand. Surely they must be able to afford a decent web system.

Some files are hosted on the US servers ( usually fast ) and some on the Taiwan servers ( usually horribly slow ).

Ive found the asus site slow as hell in my experiance.

It always seems to be painfully slow, I guess they're too cheap to pay for a good host.

Always slow in my experience. I've not had to download drivers from it yet thank god.

Strangely I just managed to get the Soundmax drivers off the site.

When going to the UK Asus site and clicking on any of the servers including the US one it just results in slow speeds and disconnections.

But going to the US Asus site and clicking the US server let me get the drivers. (still took 10 minutes though for a 20mb file) :rolleyes:

Asus.com (US site) seems to be ok. I try to get the drivers from the component manufacturers though. (for example ATI for IGP drivers)

Its been **** for me for the last 2 years.

However I have found the network drivers from somewhere else (The guys who actually make the chipset!) and Intel have the chipset drivers.

Don't need the Asus site anymore
