Asus, what is ROG?

I've no intention of overclocking so looks play a much bigger part.

And my point still stands, PCB, tracers and capacitors look absolutely dreadful.

Getting back somewhat on topic.

I'm indifferent to ROG stuff, their GFX cards are ok and certainly well built with good performance and noise, their boards just seem a bit expensive compared to rival boards, the Z87 Hero is naff and too cut down within the BIOS to have the ROG tag.

@OP you dont have to combine a ROG board with ROG GFX card, you can mix and match between vendors.

I went for an rog motherboard this time round, (maximus VI formula) loved the look of it. But i usually go for asus boards anyway. Tbh, the number of options in the bios for overclocking is staggering. Not that the average user like me will ever need them, but when clocking a lot of theese features can be left on default and the board does a really good job of setting them up in conjunction with the manual settings you choose.

rog stands for

Rip you Off Greatly :D;)
Lol, yep they can be pretty expensive. If it hadnt have been for the fact that asus chose the disgusting black/gold theme on the z87 range, id probably have went with a z87 pro as it has the exact same layout as my old z77 v pro. Ideal for sli and using my xonar DX along with the k2 cooler. Left no option in the asus camp but to go rog, and tbh i wasnt that keen on the hero.

I think the ROG products are overpriced but they are very decent quality, if I had the money I would.
