It's ok but it's not as good as I was expecting. The sound quality is good but:

I run 4 channel surround and I get an echo effect/delay between channels which I can't get shut up so it's constantly a bit "empty hall" sounding no matter what I do running that mode. And, windows sounds such as clicks in IE are sort of shortened/chopped off? lol. Otherwise, good card and the headphone amp works a treat.

I'm just running the drivers provided and Win XP, I will have look for updated ones.
 
On some sites the 'lower' port is an optical one, is this the case?

Or is it one of those optical ports that comes with the adaptor for it..
