Specs.
Asus M3AQ79T
Phenom 940
2 x 2GB Crucial Memory 1066
Fortress case
ATI 4870
Be Quiet 650W.

This card works OK with my speakers.
I connected the HDI plug from the sound output on the top of the case to the Xonar card but I cannot get any sound from the top connection.

I have been in the BIOS and disabled the onboard sound but it still does not work.

I brought this card specifically so I could connect the top audio plug.

Can anyone advise me on what to do next.

so youre running the output of your onboard sound into the input of the xonar??

I have disabled the onboard sound.
I then connected the HD connector to the Xonar card, that came from the case top mounted sound output.

The case sound output has connectors for HD and AC97.

The first picture shows the two connectors, the white one is AC97 the orange one is HD audio.

The second picture shows where the HD audio plug is connected.
