Asus Zenfone 9

Anyone looking into this device as their next daily?
Currently on a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and I think I'm willing to try smaller phones this time.

Most reviews have been promising with the tech inside but my only issue is the 2 year limited OS updates. I'm a bit of tinker but wondered to get around can I put a custom OS or a vanilla OS over on top. I assume I won't be getting OTA updates and etc. As the phone is getting close to high end flagship prices I want to really make it last as I'm on my 4th year with my mate 20 pro.
