It appears that in some parts of the country they are throttling the ports that Live uses. Typically for me it happens between 5pm and early the next morning.

It's annoying that it only affects some people, and its definitely not an issue with network load or over-subscription in the area, as I can quite happily download at full speed from my PC at the same times.

Great news about the update, sounds like its a toal overhaul of the way you download from the Marketplace and not some quick fix.

Thats awesome news. I just downloaded the MotoGP demo and I got the Lost Planet demo. Both downloaded super fast for me, and both are supurb games. This is gonna be the cherry on the top. Most needed tho!

MS are really doing a good job.

Didnt even think about having a download manager thats a quality idea, shame it wasnt ready for the E3 stuff.

Sounds like M$ are really making the effort to sort some of the niggles out (next one sort marketplace out it's a disorganised mess!!)

Talk about mass-hysteria over features that a PC from last decade was capable of.

Seems Microsoft corp are merely holding onto features the 360 should have been released with from the start to make it seem fresh and new.

Does it matter either way? I am guessing it was an after thought though. Having said that, as long as they add it I dont mind. There is likely to be tons of new features, Its simply to keep giving surprises to sony... still they should be happy, it constantly gives sony more stuff to copy

(BTW, I am planning on owning all consoles... just in case you are wondering)

... and it's things like this is why Microsoft and Xbox 360 should easily win this round. Sony seriously have lost the plot. They are just not what they used to be.

Only via external software such as GoZilla! or GetRight. Those features have never been built into Windows. Whilst nothing groundbreaking, downloading through Xbox Live! is annoying without these features.

its true it should been in there from the start, but heck who cares, its an improvement to what is already a sublime gaming system. And even better than the fact that 360 is looking to be the champ of the next gen consoles, but i HAVE ONE! ITS IN MY ROOM AND HAS BEEN FOR MONTHS! Say what you want about Sony and Ninty but ya cant actually go play on one this second can you? hahaha i think ill go play with mine now!

Excellent News - Can't wait for this will represent a good step forward. I'm looking forward to the PS3 launch cos i hope MS go mad with new features updates etc...
