ATAPI errors

Hello,

Can anyone shed any light into my ATAPI errors?

Windows Explorer.exe and random C: (My SSD and ATAPI ID 0 drive) application crash every 10 minutes or so. I have to restart the computer. Sometimes My computer will reach the Desktop on start up and about 15 exe boxes appear saying they have crashed, would I like to restart the program etc.

In event log, I have lots of Error level...errors, sourced at ATAPI, saying "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0."

So firstly, what checks and scans etc can I run to find bad segments or whatever, in an SSD?

Or, will a format and clean install fix this?

Or, is my SSD dead?

Thanks.

I'd say it's dead.

Test one drive at a time to see which one is giving you problems. Can't always easily identify which port that's referring to. Sometimes the 'port number' you see is referenced differently to the machine.
