New York coverage starts at 9:30 on BBC Red button & BBC sport website.

Really really good looking 100m field, though it isn't a Diamond League event, should be good to see how Blake runs. 10:20 I believe it should start.

110mh isn't bad though, with Oliver and Richardson.

Blake beat Bolt in the Jamaican Olympic trials last night with a time of 9.75. Bolt finished second and Powell was third.

Meanwhile, none of the British runners have managed to beat the qualification time of 10.18 so far :o

British sprinting is a bad place. :( Though it could be said without Chambers, we really wouldn't have had much going for us since Linford packed up his lunchbox.

On the other end of the spectrum I finally got around to watching the youtube coverage of the Jamaican trials. Blake looked hungry, Bolt was working and Powell got pwned.

Heads up that the Diamond League continues this weekend and it's in London over 2 days.

It may make a decent precursor to the Olympics with it's location, even for those who don't normally follow the Diamond League :)

TV Times are...

Friday, 13 July

1800-2030, BBC Two/online

Saturday, 14 July

1400-1700, BBC One/online

Gemili was quick, which suprises me as whenever I've seen him run, he never featured. So where does that time put him compared to the current crop of UK 100m boys? With 10.05 he must be right up there in the all time lists too...

Fourth fastest I think. Crazy that he's the fastest we've got by miles at the moment but is still potentially quarter of a second if not more off the top guys!

Still, good sign that we appear to have a truly promising talent at last.

Peri Shakes-Drayton goes in the womens 400m hurdles in a second.

Kirani James is in the mens 400m.

Jeter, Fraser-Pryce, Campbell-Brown all in the womens 100m.

Carter, Bailey, Blake, Thompson, Gay, Bledman all in the mens 100m (not a Diamond League event.)

Merritt, Oliver, J-Rich all in the mens 110m hurdles.

And of course Usain Bolt is in the 200m along with 4 other Jamaicans!

I believe that was a PB, so he can't really ask for more.
If he gets another PB next year, then he will be in Bolt-beating territory.

The problem for Blake is that Bolt is great during championships. He may lose in minor races, but when it comes to the big races, Bolt raises his game.
