Athlon vs Phenom

I was wondering how much better the Phenom II 550 BE is compared to the Athlon II 250 and if the Phenom is worth the extra 20 quid.

Athlon is old, old architecture. So yes, Phenom would be better in pretty much every case.

Athlon II has the same core, it's just the lack of L3 cache that gives it the namesake.

phenom 550 is worth it, clocks well and if its a unlocker and the right motherboard, then you could have a quad core cpu

in the reviews i read the 550 pretty much beats the athlon down and a excellent little chip but.. think your better of streaching for a x3 920 match it up to the cheap matx gigabite motherboard and you should fly
