Athlon64 X2 3800+ Steppings

JUst bought two of these from OCuk and was hopping for QE but one was QE the other 9E, but you can't really choose what you get I suppose :D

If you manually set the chip to 1.35vCore in the BIOS you should get 2600MHz-2700MHz without too much fuss. If you have a really nice chip you can try and add more vCore and get 2800MHz.

What's taking you so long?! I might use an hour to estimate about max speed, then I use quite a lot of time stress testing later on. You've spent like a month now? :p

A quick google gave me some idea... It doesn't seem to be the best clocker. I reckon about 2.6-2.7, at least with air cooling. But it's really hard to tell unless you try it yourself.

Bah, I'll be happy with 2.8Ghz, taking a 200Mhz hit in favour of an extra core seems a fair trade.

Not sure if your talking to me but if you are this is the *fifth* X2 3800+ I've overclocked since I started the thread! :D

All the chips do 2600MHz using 1.3500vCore, a few did 2700MHz and one did 2800MHz.

Didn't get time to push them further but I will really give this latest one a good tonking!

You better start pushing your latest one then!
