Hi People,

Need some help me thinks, i think i have an over heating issue?

over the last few days my 1900xtx seems to be playing up and I am not sure whats the problem.

If i run 3dmark 2006 somethimes it's fine, then on another pass the computer screen just goes blank and requires me to reset, then if i run 3dmark again i just get an odd colour pattern on the screen which requires me to reset.

It also does this in a number of games mainly newer games Stalker etc as i can play older games i.e dawn of war fine, with normal windows stuff working ok aslo.

The cards idle temp is 48.c which seems fine i have the zalman vf900 fan set to high.

I have just built a new computer with all new parts exepect the 1900xtx and it's still doing it?

Is the card on the way out, if so would a 8800gts 320mg be a good buy? I have a 1680x 1050 display or should i go for the 640mg version? would really like to keep the cost down and not spend £250.

Any help would be great

nice one

Hi people,

Well just ran ATI tool and no artifacts but when it went into the 3d cub bit last about 30 seconds and it gives me that odd mesh of colour over the screen.

So i guess the question now is the 640mg version of the 8800 gts wroth the extra £70 given my display being at 1680 x 1050?

Any help woud be great

Nice one

320mb version is supposed to be on par with the 640 up to 1920*1200 so the 320mb should be fine at that resolution seing as there are less pixels than 1600*1200 on that display.
