ATI 4890 installation help

It snounds a power supply issue becuase that is what those flashing red leds mean on the card I had this a while ago for some reason re connecting the 24 pin and 8 pin atx connecters sovled the problem and ive never had it again

May have just been a coincidence but try it heh

I have the same problem

I just registered because I saw that you were having the exact same problem as I. I have a 965-DS3 as well and just went from a 8800GT to a 4890. AFter spending all friggin night messing with it I found a solution.

The motherboard is the problem -- when you get it to boot (after powering on and off about 30 times) press ctrl-F1 to get the extra screen in the BIOS. Then under voltage settings, raise your PCI-E voltage to +1.

Mine boots every time now.

Hi karellen,

Thanks for the info. This is great.

My system is running ok at the moment but I will keep this in mind if I encounter the problem again.

Thanks very much for registering to give me an answer to this wierd problem.
