ATi 5770 case on or off?

Just wondering on those 5770's with smaller coolers, would it be better to have the case off or on?

I would have thought off as it enables for better air outflow.

Would that void the warranty?

It's probably designed so that the air it pulls in does some cooling on the way there, like mem and VRM or whatever. If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

It just clicks on and off so I thought i might take it off to see. I'll do it tonight and report back the temps.

it probably depends more on how efficient the fan is, im guessing the graphics card cases are hollow and that there is space underneath..
