at home, you?
have installed latest drivers from ati's website, yet cannot get my resolution on my monitor perfect, i have a hanns-g hw173a and have only gotten close to a decent resolution now at 1280 x 1024 @ 60hz, no matter what i do i cannot get it to go better than 1024 x 768 at full screen, i had a previous version of the driver on another install that worked a lot better but cannot recall what one it is, my flatscreen now no longer goes at full screen, there is a small black line around the lot, can anyone help?

I also use to have this problem with HDMI until there was an update. Right click your desktop and select the catalyst control center, (sold my 5770) I can't remember which tab it is but try one where you can adjust the scaling percentage so there are no black borders. Sorry I cannot give you the exact guidance but good luck.

this is not a problem with the resolution however. This was while running any resolution. The op is having a problem of choosing his native resolution not being available.

Try going to the display settings, then selecting advanced. Then click on List all modes and see if your resolution is on there.
