an extra £5 for a hd5830 will get you:
-a faster performing card
-single gpu (dual gpu cards rely heavily on drivers and games being coded properly)
-no microstutter for the reason mentioned above
-dx11
-much less power consumption (which im guessing your parents pay the bill for...)
-a much more reliable card
ITs off the clearance and that means im not getting it, looking at the new stuff on the clearance some of it looks so much better than the 9800gx2.
Firstly i noticed now i could get a ati hd 5830 for £70 + postage
anyone knows what they compare to 786mb gtx 460 as there only about £80 on the clearance at the moment?
bare in mind im probably only going to run 1 dvi 17" moniter at a fairly low resolution "1080 by 1280" or sumink
Frankly Zac, i thought i was trying to prod you in the right direction with your previsou threads, and i genuinely was interested in (and trying to defend) your dual xeon build, but if you really cant see past your stubbornness and look at all of these reasons and all of these people warning you from past experience that you're making a bad descision then god help you.
and this is before ive taken the PSU in to account...
lol. this kid has the same attitude as those consol3 nobs that think buying a 1080p tv makes the graphics better and refuse to listen to anyone
OMG is this the same guy who put thermal paste on the wrong side of his cpu and blamed ocuk for selling 'dangerous' paste? Sure sounds the same....
