GX-272-SP_400.jpg

Most graphics cards based on AMD technology require the third monitor in an Eyefinity set-up to be a DisplayPort monitor, or connected with an active DisplayPort Adapter. The SAPPHIRE FleX family can support three DVI monitors in Eyefinity mode and deliver a true SLS (Single Large Surface) work area without the need for costly active adapters. The first two monitors are connected to the two DVI ports and the third to an HDMI to DVI cable (supplied) with no extra hardware required.
The SAPPHIRE HD 6950 FleX is now the highest performing card with this feature, allowing gamers to use low-cost DVI monitors for all three screens. Additional monitors can be added to the setup, but must be DisplayPort connected.
Like the standard HD 6950, the SAPPHIRE HD 6950 FleX Edition boasts true DX 11 capability and the powerful configuration of 1408 stream processors and 88 texture processing units. With its clock speeds of 800MHz for the core and 1250Mhz (5 Gb/sec effective) for the memory this model brings multi-screen enjoyment to even hard-core gamers.

That Toxic 6950 is probably pretty much exactly the same speed as a 6970 would be like 1-2 fps slower I guess.

Yes its only dis-advantage is its 300MHz slower on the memory and as the memory is quad-pumped that means there is literally zero performance difference, even at 2560x1600 your looking at just 1-2fps.

Also this is a Toxic, they normally overclock like demonds. :D

The toxic even comes with an altered bios that may or may not unlock the extra shaders out of the box!

It is a very special card and this price is only valid whilst were waiting for stock.

If I was buying a card right now, this would be it. :D

I've just bought two refurbed 480s, you've already taken my money :D.

Feel free to pay me for helping you market this product though :D

The GTX 480 for the money is unbeatable though, but its not a current card and are very rare, so congratulations on getting a pair. :)

Oh fantastic....only ordered a 6850 on Saturday from you for almost the same money as the twin frozr !
Not happy now !

How much better are these than a 5870? I'm out of touch with gfx cards :o

Hi there

Its as follows:-

6850 - 5830 - GTX 460 - GTX 560
6870 - 5850 - GTX 470 - GTX 560Ti
6870 OC - 5870 - GTX 470 - GTX 560Ti

So a 6950 standard has the edge over a 5870 and an OC 6950 like the Toxic is quite a bit faster, but your not talking a radical performance boost.

I'd probably not do it if your 5870 is playing your games I'd wait for the next refresh at end of the year. :)

I admire your honesty there Gibbo. I have a 5870 myself and have been debating for a while now about whether to upgrade to a 6950. Will hold onto it for the refresh. That's an order for you guys come the end of the year. :)

Really tempting prices though!

6950 toxic is tempting as I recently upgraded from 1920 x 1200 to 2560 x 1440(u2711) and have a msi twin frozr 5850(slight oc 750/1000 recntly playing with overdrive) only got it before chrismas, trying to stop myself and wait till the new cards are released by amd and nvidia.

the 6950 will be bottlenecked as I have a q6600@3ghz(have a q9450 which I'll put in there once I get around to cleaning my pc(quite dusty, have a air duster and been meaning to clean for ages but been lazy), been wanting to upgrade to a i2500k but no job for 15months now(only bought the u2711 as my 24inch monitor went on the fritz and only could use it for like 30mins - 1hr before having to turn it off for abit).

6950 toxic(£225), 5850 vapor-x(£120) to xfire with the msi twin frozr ii 5850(whats 5850 xfire vs single oced 6950 like?) or just stick it out with the single 5850 for a few more month?
