hi guys I want to get a 6970 or a 6950, does it matter a lot which manufacturer it is?
His is the cheapest any other better?

and finally any big difference between the 6950 and 6970, is it worth the price difference?

cheers!

These two questions are exactly what I'm wondering right now.

Will keep an eye on this.

All ATI cards used to be made by sapphire - not sure thats the same now, but the are all exactly the same "reference" design - maybe not the same components/colours but exactly the same specification - even the coolers.

Non-reference designs will turn up in a month or so - factory overclocked + voltage tweaks + better cooling etc.

The 6970 is about 12.5-15% faster than the 6950 - as the clock speed is 10% faster and there are 10% more processors + memory is faster too + a few other things. If you think the difference is worth it - pay it, else don't.

Both will probably overclock to the same amount -the 50 being a 70 with a few faulty clusters with their links burnt out. So it runs cooler and takes less juice.

Nope, they are all the same, just stickers that's different at the moment

Personally I would say that only the 6950 is good value for money.
