I like to clarify the difference this way
Football = Involves using feet to kick the ball for the majority of the game
American Football = Has as much relevence to the term "Football" as it does to "Basketball"

No I don't understand how they managed to apply that name to it either.

Edit: I also love how the "World Series" never travels outside one country :D It's almost like a social commentary on the mindset of the nation.

I hope fermi fails, simply because of nvidias dodgy dealings with anti-aliasing etc as of late. karma for the win.
