ATI Dual display problem

Just upgraded from a nvidia 8800gts320 to a ATi HD4850.

My primary display is a 19" running at 1280x1024, and I have a DLP TV as a secondary display running at 720p set in catalyst control center.

As soon as i switch the TV off, the graphics card switches all the applications to the primary display (which i don't want) and more annoyingly switching the resolution down to 1024x768.

Anyone have a clue how to stop it switching to single display after i switch the TV off.
my old graphics card never did this.

Okay this is driving me crazy now.
Every time i switch the TV on or off my primary display switches to 1024x768!

And my second displays refresh changes to 59Hz instead of60Hz, why the hell is it not saving my changes?

I've tried using the "Force" options still the same thing
