ATI hotfix now available

is it just me or does my card run hotter than it did before the hotfix was applied ? , it hit 76c while playing bioshock but before it only hit 68c . i have noticed though it ran smoother and looked alittle better

Not sure not checked temps, although it seemed to be working the fan a little harder than normal in COD4 ?

nope not me , i have the cheapo triplex 3870 (ocuk hd3870) :( . hoping to get a better version soon though , just had bioshock freeze on me (i think it is a ccc problem though )

What do you they cut back on a cheapo triplex?

Bioshock freezing..that's annoying - hope you get it sorted out m8 .

Wow - looks a dinky thing.

So what's cheapo then about it then? I like the small size of it from what I see of it.

the cooler is cheap tack , the fins bend even if you blow on them . but other than that i had to uninstall this hotfix cause it kept crashing ccc while gaming , installed 8.3 igp drivers and the problem seems to have gone now

That couldn't have been tearing, this hotfix has fixed it for me and I never use vsync.

It was far too harsh to be tearing and I only got the issue with the 8.3's.

have you tried to play DiRt ?

my triplex would crash out of that and cod4 with driver errors, after a bit of testing i found it was running on far less voltage than what it needed. have since voltmodded it so that it can actually run on stock speeds.

Same for me, only happens with Cat 8.3 and these hotfix drivers.

So, no one knows why it might be happening ?

Its can't be game specific if it did it in Steam games too...I might try that and confirm it does it in Steam for me too.

Could it be AA ? I play online with the eye candy on, inc AA, perhaps its that ? ***Clutches a big handful of straws***

It does still happen to me sorry... I tried it in SP where I have vsync on so it wasn't happening, still happens in MP. :(

I had to uninstall the old 8.3 and just put the hot fix on sorted out my tearing (XP).My vista drive updated over the top np.
