BAH - apologies - my bad :p but my investigating comment stands :D Looking for an AGP limits the choice quite a bit for £100, maybe it is time to upgrade to a new MoBo? :D

Future proofing? May not now, but there are more and more games coming out that utilise the extra GPU memory. Personally I wouldn't write it off...

Yeah but by the time that happens those games will be far too much for an X800 GTO to handle. I remember a mate of mine buying one of those 512MB 6600's or 6600GT's and he soon regretted it since it was a complete waste of the extra outlay.

You are correct, there is little point in having the extra mem on a low to mid range card...
