ok, place your bets... what card will score highest in 3dm06? X1800xt or gtx512? Will it be a surprise victory for the red camp or will the 512mb monster come out of hiding long enough to snatch the win for the green team?

edit:seriously i cant believe the abbreviation of 'for the win' is blocked.

Pretty stupid post considering that my X1800XL scores more than a 7800GT in 3DMark05, but the GT is better in most game benchmarks.

Same goes for X800Pro and 6800GT and 3DMark05.
 
I've got a humor, but mild attempts to rustle other posters nerves doesn't pull its strings.

try being funny, I've heard that hits the spot :)

You could say that is down to the fact that most games have the 'twimtbp' sticker on them...

I think it's actually because 3dmark05 is heavily vertex shader dependant and ATi cards generally have better vertex shader performance.

but like Mekrel said NV it's a different story in games so I guess futuremark got it wrong with 05.
 
Neither will 'win'. The integrated Intel vga chipset will dominate everything*.

that was blatently a joke, lighten up whoevers biting the heads off. I recon probably ATI after its been tweaked with etc, since nvidia overclocked their's to the max for stock
 
i think mostly this battle of ati and nvidia is personal opinion and taste..

and for me, im on ati's side...i still think of them as the underdog..and i like that :)

and they are way cooler

I just hope that dual core really makes a difference with this version. . . as all I see in other threads is how the cpu lags behind the graphics cards.

I am on neither side, bought a 7800GT cos it was the best i could get for what i had to spend.
Anyway what do you mean by cooler? (temp?)
