ATI's new graphics card size is a litle silly

Trust me, some hipers are fine but most of them are NO SWEARING

i mean come on they have problems from Underpowering to blowing up to fans stoping and makeing rattle noises becuse of poor sleeve fans, i mean cant they afford ballbairing fans ? lol

Anyone asks me for recommendations for fans i advise stay well clear of hipers, i got sucked in becuse of the wow they look awsome factor.

lol @ the fact someone made a cheap remark about Hipers and people are really sweating over it :o

People can defend them all they like but the number of failures speak for theirselves. Out of the major players they are one of the most unreliable brands atm.

I dont care what anyone thinks about Hiper now, its proberbly just a bad batch, mine is doing greate and I think its ana wsome PSU, I have the version before they were even SLi ready.

That's what they all say before they blow up ;)

edit: only with better spelling :p

/me goes offline to replace his broken hiper then...must just have been a bad batch from 2 years ago...how long does a batch last for then? 2 years? because the new ones are still blowing up now

Well, I am confident that my PSU is ok, and I really dont think mine is going to blow, just because loads are blowing does not mean mine will.

I am not going to spend £50 on a new PSU just because people are saying there all blowing up, and before I bought this PSU, I looked at reviews and they appeared to be good, not blowing up all the time, so just because some are blowing up does not mean there all gonna blow up, then someone says there 18month old Hiper blown and then people think all Hipers are gonna

Yea I have an old Hiper Type-R 580W, its one with only one PCI-E connector...

See I'd spend around £100 on a really good PSU and have as best peace of mind as I ever would.

There is NOTHING wrong with my PSU!, I dont care how many are exploding, there is NOTHING wrong with mine. Yea if I was building a new rig with an 8800GTX, for piece of mind I would buy a 1KW PSU.

Right now I have:

AMD 3700+
8800GTS.
X-Fi Fatal1ty
1gb ram
TV Tuner
1x 20GB HDD
1x 250GB HDD
1x 160GB HDD
DVD-RW.
3 Fans
1 cathode tube
Logitech G15.
Laser mouse
USB Hub, 2 usb sticks, charging my phone
Another keyboard
Another mouse
Camera.

Sure not allot of stuff, but surely because of how bad Hiper PSU's are mine should have gone bang ages ago..

Its in no way a Low quality PSU, its in no way near as bad as crappy Q-Tec PSU's and the amperage on my PSU is plenty enough for what I run. Yea when I buy a new PSU I wont be buying Hiper as I am slightly put off, but next you will be saying a good brand like Antec, Enermax, Tagen, Seasonic are crap makes :\

i remember when tagans had a bad batch no one would touch them because they blew up or something now they are quite a respected brand you don't hear anybody say don't touch a tagan

going by my personal experience i have a hiper type m 580w and it has been solid so far although i dislike the perforated design to much heat exhausted in my case had to tape up the back of it

maybe they have improved

I know this sound stupid, but is the perforated design the mesh or something?

Watch it there all gonna say your PSU is gonna play up too

Hmmm good point, hasent affected me though, any heat coming form the PSU will get sucked out of the case fan near it.
