ATi's Physics Solution....What ya thinking?

“Ah, so in other words Pottsey, you're talking pure speculation”
It’s not me who’s talking pure speculation, its you. That’s why I said the comparison was not fair. You’re the one who’s saying “Havok is more widely used than Ageia PhysX,” that’s pure guess work and speculation on your part not mine.

“with nothing to back up anything you're saying whatsoever. Well, why didn't you just say so?”
I don’t know which is more widely used which was why I asked for a detailed list. Not your unfair list of 14 games. How am I meant to back up what I say when my question was how do you know Havok is more widely used when we don’t know how many games use Ageia. I just wanted to see a list of both API’s to back up your statement. Until I see a full or mostly full list of both API’s you’re the one not backing up what you say. Not me.

I am not disagreeing with your statement as I don’t know if its true or not. I just want to see some facts so I know its not something your just guessing at.

I'd back you up on that one Pottsey, I too would very much like to see a decent list of games from each API. It would certainly give us more of an idea regarding what the individual APIs can do, to draw a comparison if you like.

As an aside, are you aware of how long Havok has been around relative to Novodex? (out of curiosity)

90%????????? where did that number come from? Are you talking about games that use the Novodex API?

perception = reality...

muhuhahahahaha - Check this out... just found on the front page of the Ageia web site...

http://www.ageia.com/

LOL - almost like they are reading this thread???? hahahahahaha I love it - check out the creation date on the 60+ 100+ image... 20/06/2006... could that be today???? bwahahahaha... somebody here works for Ageia...

EDIT: If you wanted me to do your PR for you Ageia, you could've asked! LOL :D

That info has been on their site for weeks.

I just tried looking at the date in my browser and everything came up as 19/6/06 as the date created. Then I cleared my temporary internet files and it came up 20/6/06. Wait until tomorrow and try the same yourself.

”90%????????? where did that number come from? Are you talking about games that use the Novodex API?”
Yes I was including Novodex API for the 90% number also it was an estimate of how many game where not included in the list. Which now I think about Novodex the missing games from the list of 14 is over 95%+ missing.

As the other person compared 14ish games in a list to all the Havok games that came out in the past. 14 games out of 100 to 120+ games that use one of Ageia API’s is roughly 90% games missing form the list.

Very funny. The creation date is the date the file was created on your hard drive I believe. The 60 developers, 100+ games has been on their websites for weeks if not months. There are over 100 games coming out and an unknown amount now without PPU support.

Also they didnt get the idea for the image by reading here, I got the numbers 60/100 from reading there website.

LOL - sorry m8 - I wasn't implying you... I was just suggesting that Ageia might have someone reading the threads... I don't think you work for Ageia even for a moment :)

EDIT: I think it's pretty poor form to accuse you of something like that. Besides, having Ageia to actually give the hard line on what is going on would be really interesting. It'd certainly stimulate some interesting coversation.

And yeah you are correct about the date the image is created on your hard drive - learn something every day... LOL cheers :D

Still, I'd be keen to see how many 'released' games use the Novodex API...
