I find max core, then screen goes blank for 30+ misn til i restart

Any utility which can find the "max stable settings" for your card should not really be trusted. If you want to overclock its best to just try things out yourself.

Your PC is doing this as your card cannot handle the frequency ATI Tool is testing and has crashed.
