Anyone seen this?

http://www.dynavin.com/products/product_dnv_e46.php

Alternative to the BMW navigation system. Looks almost OEM but has..

Touchscreen
DVD Player
Digital TV receiver
GPS Receiver
Bluetooth
SD Card slots
USB ports

All built in. It also runs Windows CE 5.0 so you could in theory install TomTom etc on it?

Not sure what to make of it to be honest - it has the potential to be both epic and indeed an epic failiure. If its any good then it'd make a good upgrade even from the BMW OEM Navigation unit

They also do it for Audi and Mercedes.

The Rover guys have been fitting these chinese units to their ZTs and 75s and have only praise to say so far. For £300 delivered they do seem pretty damn good. Also TomTom does indeed work.

Looks pretty good. Might have a look at these later in the year as it fits in very well with the dash.

The DVD playback, digital TV etc would be pointless for me though as I never spend any time sitting in my car not driving.

You get what you pay for, the unit doesn't exactly match the look of the interior (ie its cheap plastic) and the Menus look hideous.

On the face of it, looks like a good OEM alternative.

Wonder if its compatable with the HK setup? Any idea?

Ive seen these chinese knock-offs before, they are ok. Ive no experience of the BMW units, but the other ones looked ok and the feature set was good, but the sound quality was poor, but this was about 18 months ago, so they could have improved.

If it fits Rover 75/ZT then it fits E39, I'm pretty sure ZT owners were fitting E39 nav units previously.

ZT owners fit E46 nav stuff not E39.

My thinking is that if the sound quality is cack then its on par with OEM but it has pre outs so you can fit a proper amp?

Like Fox said the OEM sound quality is poor, a friend has navigation/dvd in his E46, not good sound at all though the unit is great.

I've been following this for a while now, still yet to see a definitive price for the e46 unit though, seen it range from £300 to £1150 depending on who you talk to. :D

I might get one to try out, if it's any good I could sell the retrofitted nav gear out of my 325i and make a huge profit if it's cheap enough.

Certainly looks a lot better than some e46 car PC installs I've seen, and looks a better fit than some of the dodgy double DIN facias. If it really is under £300 then it's almost as cheap as some people are ridiculously selling double DIN facias for as well. :D

Do you actually know anything about these or are you just posting for the sake of it again? :p

Not the unit in particular but if you have a poor quality signal, an amp isn't going to clean it up, it's just going to amplify it. If the DAC in the HU is rubbish, no amount of amplification will mask that.

Is it the same unit as the one the MG guys are using?

If so..

Steering wheel control works without any adaptors and you can map each control to different functions

Functionality wise this thing seems incredible?
