I have just had a email back from a competitor about this board, and this is the gist of the reply:

Hi Steve,

We have a long term relationship with DFI so there is a chance we'll be
stocking this board. We'll keep your email handy and wait to see what the
interest level is.

We don't see it as a mainstream board as it doesn't have integrated
graphics. The requirement for a graphics card means only 1 or 2 out of
around 40 enclosures will work. This generally limits sales. If we bought
them one at a time for customers they would be rather pricey!

Kind Regards,
Ewan Wilcocks

So there is a company out there that will certainly consider it, but they don't think it'll be much use without a dedicated graphics card.

Surely, you can get slimline PCI-E graphics cards which would fit into a Mini ITX case?

They know of 40 cases that don't support 1/2 or full height PCI slots and only know of 2 that do? Ummmm, I don't even think I can think of 20 cases that don't support PCI at all and are designed for mini-itx. :p

A well. Azza found a supplier for you anyway :D

ah yes, but they didn't say about half or full height cards...

As I said in an email back to them, most people will probably use this board in a mATX case rather than a mITX case purely because of heat issues with the Core i5/7 cpu and also for the graphics side of things...

However as a dedicated Mini ITX supplier.........it's a mini itx board so doesn't matter what people put the board into.....

Most people wanting a gaming mini-ITX PC will go for the SG05/06 I would have thought. I think the Lian Li can not fit wide graphics cards in, not too sure though, have not looked at cases properly yet.

Apparently Lan Gear are working on a mini-ITX gaming case, only rumours at the moment.

Dear Aron,
Hello! Good day!
We’ll ship MI P55 to **** today and we estimate the shipment will arrive next Monday or Tuesday.
I’ll update you once it comes to ****
Thanks a lot again

:D :D

I can't sell my current massive system fast enough!

I want that board!

Hmm Azza, do you know if the board and the i5 750 supports EEC memory?

If it does I might pick up some 4gb stick of ddr3, so i can have 8GB again :D

I'm not sure that it does. It doesn't say it does on the DFI website.

I'll try find out for you.

Thanks Azza. It's a real pity, but a good thing I got an email from another company and they Sell 8GB, 2x4GB sticks off GSkill Rip Jaws at 1333Mhz, 1600 and 2000mhz :D

It's about 289 on average for a pair of sticks, but it's not too expensive.

LOL, not expensive at all. :( What you do for a living?

Make sure you have a look at Clunks living review on the board mate.

Don't want you pushing the board too far and melting it like he has done. :D

oh my god. :D

I'd swap my rig for one built on that, but stick a honking gfx card on it and it kind of defeats the point :( ?

2x4gb sticks of ram too... mmm

what would be the -best- setup for this? Most small cases cant do gfx cards :( and im not sure which are modable (v300 is but then just get a matx :x?) sg06 is sexy but only 9inch gfx :/

argh its going to be impossible to make a tiny high end rig, just due to space really.the psu wont be powerfull enough (for an i7 + gfx) space for gfx, space for a decent cooler for that toasty i7.. hm

Don't worry I've been looking at his review since it appeared on XS, I don't want to kill the board.

I'll certainly have to get some heatsinks for all the exposed bits.

Also I'm a broke college student, but I'm one of those people that saves a lot, every cent I find is saved also.

It allowed me to build my current system which is in my sig :D
