Evening all,

In a bit of a pickle here...

I've just sold my old mobile phone on the bay. I clearly stated on the listing that it was UK postage only yet at the last second someone from the US decided to bid and win the auction.

I've sent him an e-mail giving him 1 hour to reply and stating that he was wrong.

Do i have the right to just offer the phone to the 2nd highest bidder?

It's my first time selling something on the bay and it's not a great start. :(

Any help/suggestions would be great.

Cheers

Weird thing is, the bidder has been inactive for 2 and a half years and all of a sudden he's bidded and won the phone. Something a little fishy?

wait for the email reply:

please send me your final figure, i will need item be send to 'random african nation'....

sounds dodgy to me :]

yea offer to 2nd person

and report them to ebay for non payment but put down that they bid and you dont ship to where they live

this way u get fees back and they dont get a strike win win

Instead of refusing to send items abroad I usually go for a punitive postage fee to put the blighters off.

If they bid anyway you win, lots of extra cash

If they are put off by it you win, no fiddly abroad posting.

Well at the end of the day, he was a time waster and he's just wrecked another 5 peoples auctions!!

Just got this e-mail from eBay...

We have removed these listings and will credit all fees to your account because it has come to our attention that the items were bought without the account owner's authorisation. We are now restoring the account to its owner.
