Any views on these?

I've been looking for an alternative to the focus ST and have found one of the above a year old for around the same value as the focus.

I'm sure the audi will hold the value a little better but the running costs could mount up.

i think i'm going to take it for a drive tomorrow anyway.

I'm in the hunt for performance but with the balance of 'reasonable' running costs.

The 2.0T is a better car imo. Cheaper to run, lighter weight and almost as fast in the real world.

I've got the DSG one (which isn't quattro) and I'm really pleased with it.

Definately test drive both - it depends on whether you want the V6 soundtrack...

i've had a look and the 2l FSI seems to be close to the V6 performance.....the standard 2l is slower.

not sure there will be many of the FSI units around as second user?

I doubt you'll have any probs finding one - they are quite popular. Try a dealer first to find the spec you want and then go to autotrader...

I don't know of anyone who's disappointed with the 2.0T - whether it be VW, Audi, Seat etc. A fantastic engine with good all-round performance. It can be chipped to make it quicker than the V6 for few hundred quid.

You'll have much better used choice on the 3.2V6 than you will on the 2.0T as it's been around for so much longer. The 3.2V6 Quattro is also available with DSG whilst the 2.0T Quattro is not.

You might also get a better deal by going with the 3Dr as most people seem to prefer the Sportback, despite the rear of it totally minging :)

The standard 2.0FSI is hopeless. It doesn't have anywhere near enough torque for such a heavy car and you end up revving the nuts off it to get anywhere.

dare i ask a noob question......what is the DSG? i always thought it was the auto :o
EDIT : just read on the audi site about it. wasn't far off

found a 2005 3.2v6 quattro with 10k on the clock, leather interior for £16k

nice colour too.

I'm going to have a drive in one tomorrow to see if i like it. I've had the old 1.9TDi which i loved.
