Thinking of picking up an Audi A5, early B8 model - possibly a facelift if I found one for the right money.

Anyone here own one? How is it? What is the infotainment like? Is it modern enough to work well?

Originally wanted a 5dr sportback, but the coupe is growing on me.

I doubt any infotainment from 2008 is going to be much cop today. It may offer the basics like an aux port and maybe bluetooth audio streaming if the first owner specced it.
At the end of the day it's going to be a nearly 15-year-old executive car. Expect bills and the usual issues that go along with older cars..

Not sure what engine you are considering but I believe cam chains are known to stretch/tensioners fail on the 3.0 v6 diesel from when ive done my homework on them previously.

I remember the ride being horrible on these. Not sure if they fixed it since.

Forget about "infotainment" on older cars, you'll be lucky if you can even connect a modern phone to it. It's like using a 15 year old laptop with software just as old.

My mum has one and I think it’s pretty decent. Doesn’t have the sport suspension though - I know that can be pretty hard.

It doesn’t have CarPlay but if you get one with Bluetooth it’ll stream music fine.

The B&O system is decent and significantly better than the B9 version. Would be a must have option for me.

The mechanical side of things is fine, I can deal with those.

My main concerns were the sound and bluetooth connectivity really, so that's good to know.

Be cautious that the car has Bluetooth audio streaming and not just Bluetooth phone connectivity. They’re not the same thing on cars of this era.

Yeah bluetooth streaming from cars that age can be a proper lottery. I've got a car from 2010 and 2012 and it's very hit and miss on modern phones if it works or not, even if it 'works' it can be inconsistent with bad quality, i think they use a very early protocol which newer phones don't always seem to like.
