Audi B7 A4 Oil Sensor - HELP

Driving along the motorway and the oil sensor kicked in,ended up drifting the to the hard shoulder, checked the oil once the car had cooled down and there was sufficient in inspected the bottom of the car definatly no sign of any leak.

Managed to limp home with some horrible grating sound coming from the rear of the car and put ome Oil in even though I know there was sufficent in it, left overnight and checked this morning.

However as soon as the rev go over 2k the Oil sensor kicks in and back to square one. So has anyone got any ideas of how much this is likely to cost me to fix? Biggest problem I have is that I need the car to get to and from work, unless I want to spend the best part of over 2 hrs on various buses to and from work.:mad:
 
thanks for the replies- from the posts on audi sport it would seem my engine is sh**d its a 2.0 ltr dpf diesel 170bhp there is oil in the engine but as soon as you raise the revs by touching the accel the red oil sensor kicks in and thats it - had to bring it home otherwisethere would .have been a shell of a car when I went back to it as the area it broke down is the pits! Even when I was in the car with my son there were @ 5 potential retards takin a keen intrest on what was going on.

Yes I made a mistake but I didnt expect the f in thing to give me no warning at all. straight red no yellow nothing. I will now have to try to sort out a tow truck and get it to the nearest VAG to see IF they can do anything, however it would seem A engines are not exactly easy to come by

So at this moment in time to say I am at a low ebb is an understament! i just cant believe my bad l* and to make things worse it would seem that Audi are aware of the issue and are ignoring it this has got to the be the worst designed pile of c ever. from now on its avoid Audi at all costs! Would have been better off with a nicel little Toyota or Nissan..:D
 
Does it specify its the engine oil? Is there a sensor for the haldex oil? (Assuming it s indeed 4wd)

If its front wheel drive, and the noise is definately coming from the rear im not sure! Given you managed to drive home it could just be a faulty sensor and the noise is another problem

Given you were also advised to take it back to the bad neighborhood, leave it and hope something bad happens pretty much indicates the intelligence there!

I'm not sure why you're so concerned about transporting the car to get it diagnosed, you've already driven it "10m" allegedly without oil pressure
