Audi Q5

It appears Audi cant keep up with demand and the waiting time is considerable altho they are increasing production finally.

Also those who have purchased them are keeping them - a sign of a good car at least!

Gordon Ramsay likes them so they must be ****ing amazing for ****'s sake. I drove my uncle's 3.0 diesel and the ride was surprisingly harsh, though I loved the equipment and interior.

Was it an S-Line Robbie? They seem to have concrete filled dampers as standard, probably best to get an SE on something like a Q5.

The S-Line models are quite firm, but then im used to Audi suspension!

I thought Gordon had a Q7???

Googling this reveals that you are correct.

Yes, but it seemed harsh even in comfort mode. Whether or not comfort mode brings it into line with a standard suspension setup, I don't know. Impressive though, 6.5 seconds to 60 but 38 mpg combined.

Because its got bags of grunt.

I'm more interested in the 2.0Tdi 170 though, which is a touch slower but far more frugal.

Audi's 3.0 TDI engine confuses me to death. It seems to deliver stunning 0-60 figures in whatever car its fitted to.

They must do the 0-60 down hill a friend has a A4 3L TDI and it will hit 60 in 6.5 seconds with a clutch unfriendly launch 0.4 seconds off Audi's claim to 62mph (timed with GPS). Strange as generally they slightly under estimate the performance with other cars in the range it might be to try to make it appear similair in performance to a 335d when really it is not.

Seems to be the case with most of the range, I've ordered a TT which won't be delivered till May/June, however they have plenty of old A6s available.

I was telling my old man earlier how harsh the S-Line felt as a passenger, something I hadn't noticed as the driver.

"Stiff-line..." he muttered.

The 2.0 is more than a 'touch' slower than the 3.0.

And, yeah, as others have said the waiting times are enormous for these. Meant to be a very good car though.

Saw one of the first ones I've seen on sat, was parked opposite my pub, in line with a new bright orange TT and an A5, between them they were drawing attention away from the SL63 parked outside the pub.

I really dont get this. I've driven my s-line and an m-sport back to back and the s-line is definately more compliant than the m-sport. You think the suspension on the audi is harder than an equivalent BMW?
