Audi TT first 2 weeks experience

I've been thinking about taking a 3.2 V6 TT out for a drive, its not in the same league as the other stuff i've driven recently but they interest me for some reason.

Well it would seem then that you were very fortunate as its a common issue ;)

I was on the TT forums for ages and never came across another person with that issue. Weird...

Thanks for the report, my missus is considering one so nice to see your opinions :p

No problem. If you want a closer look at it yourself then let me know.

Very. I viewed 3 they all had it, and it seems I'm not the only one who found it. Maybe most people bin the Audi concert stereo anyway?

The next track button on the headunit has worn off, however I'm not bothered as it will be sat in the back of a wardrobe.

Looks pretty sleek in black.

I like it but I would rather have a MX5 myself. But each to their own. ;)

How much did it cost you?

It looks in lovely condition. :)

Another girl on the OCUK forums, cool! :)

Also, how much for shaved back & sides (Grade 2) with a light trim on top?

(:p)

I'm really starting to consider these instead of an S2000 and I know I shouldn't. The S2000's I will be able to realistically afford won't have the nice post 2004 interiors and the older ones look naff really. I know it won't handle or be as much fun to drive as an S2000 either but will probably be more comfortable. I bet it's quite interesting with a remap though. An insurance quote has just returned £613 compared to £850 from the S2000 too.

Argh.

3krpm sounds about right for a 4 pot petrol engine? If anything it's quite low. Probably a long cog for economy...

Huh? If anything, its shockingly high considering its got 6 gears. Even if it had only 5, that would equate to roughly 1000rpm/20mph which puts it well into buzz box territory eg. Clio 197 etc.

I recently sold mine in part ex for the GP.

Traded in with 80k on the clock on a 52 plate for just over 7.5k to a main BMW dealer.

Although, had everything on it, and in mint condition. Valetted by ProShine of Norwich a few times a year, washed twice a week atleast.

Also to note, no damage to original head unit.

Best bit of the whole car, i used it to commute 85 miles a day, needed new tyres every 20k (Pirelli P Zero Rosso). Serviced at about 18k intervals (when the computer said so) and NEVER went wrong in 3.5 years. Only expedature was on the service + Audi belt change @ 60k, no additional parts needed.

Drove it rather hard, but remained about 29-31 mpg...

Was a cracking car for what I wanted.. Miss it a little bit as well.

Although, did get ragged all the time for being a Hair Dresser's car, girls car, squashed beetle!!!

Mine had the Bose (as did all the ones I looked at). Could that be the difference?

Could be, was it a different head unit? I'm pretty sure all the ones I looked at were Audi Concert/Symphony or something. Was a year ago now, mind, so I can't quite remember :p

Don't think it matters if it has Bose as my friends has Bose and every button on the stereo is worn through. Could you get a multi function steering wheel on a TT, it may explain if they had it why the stereo buttons wouldn't be worn.

The Bose is a wider head unit (odd size thing) so it could be that. Just thought of the obvious reason though, all the ones I looked at were sub 30k miles and knowing you the ones you looked at were probably BMW miles
