Yup. At least it was until the Mk 2 came along. The Mk 2 is actually pretty decent in terms of handling.

That's weird, I didn't view a single one where the writing was missing.

This is true, I had a 2003 TT 225 and the text on the preset buttons had worn off.
I've been thinking about taking a 3.2 V6 TT out for a drive, its not in the same league as the other stuff i've driven recently but they interest me for some reason.

3krpm sounds about right for a 4 pot petrol engine? If anything it's quite low. Probably a long cog for economy...

Mine had the Bose (as did all the ones I looked at). Could that be the difference?
