Looking for some advice here.

Firstly

I currently have my computer connected to a Cambridge Audio amp, via the usual 3.5mm Stereo Jack/RCA Plug X2 Y Cable.

I recently bought another better amp & speakers to connect to my TV. I also want my computer to connect to this amp, again via the usual 3.5mm Stereo Jack/RCA Plug X2 Y Cable.

I only have one audio output on my PC therefore connection 2 stereo jacks is an issue. I bought a cheap (couple of quid) stereo audio splitter which is basically a male 3.5mm which splits into 2 3.5mm female jacks allowing me to plug both amps in. However the quality is a bit poor and it is also now damaged.

I am looking for something similar or a switch box which will allow me to connect 1 input (PC) a several output (2 amps)? Is there such a thing?

Secondly

On my TV I only have 1 HDMI port! I have 2 HDMI devices, currently I'm always at the back switching cables. I have seen HDMI switches, extenders etc, which is best?

Not looking to spend a fortune but do want something decent!

Cheers Guys

PC to two amps: you want an Audio Distribution Amplifier

1 HDMI input - 2 HDMI sources: You don't want an extender. You want a HDMI switch. Look for something in your price range; auto switching if your budget is sensible.

Do I need an Audio Distribution Amplifier? I will not be using both amps at one time, it will be ether one or the other.

Each amp provides a load via the cable on to the source. A distribution amp is the correct way to deal with that extra loading. If Y splitters were the best way then there would be no need for distribution amps; so you have to ask yourself why distribution amps exist.

You asked for some advice. It's up to you whether you take it or not. :)
