Just built a new system with an Abit ip35 pro motherboard. Everything is working perfectly, but in the device manager there is an unknown device (Audio device on high definition audio bus)
I have tried everything to fix it, all the drivers for the motherboard are installed, and the onboard sound works perfectly!

Thinking it may have been an onboard sound problem though I went into the bios and turned off onboard sound to see if would disappear from device manager…it was still there even with onboard sound off.

Any ideas any one…it’s cracking me up is this one!:confused:

Oh, btw my operating system is win xp pro sp2

Hi Wipe

Well…thank god for that, I am getting there now. It does seem to be the graphics after all; I have the Sapphire HD 2400 XT card. I have just scanned the driver dvd for the card via device manager and it has found the driver, but now I have a yellow explanation mark next to it in device manager and cant seem to get rid of it…any ideas how I can fix it.

Oh well, at least I am now getting there cheers for that. Who would have thought it would have been an graphics issue, I automatically thought It was a sound card issue with is saying hi def audio device…ho well, we are learning all the time aint we? Lol

Cheers:):):)
