Hi guys. Upon the advice from a couple of you here I recently invested in a Panasonic TX-P42ST50. A very outstanding TV in terms of picture quality, the speakers suck but I was no worried about this as it supported ARC and so did my Amp... or so I thought.
I've got the TV hooked up to my Onkyo TX-SR508 via HDMI. The cable is hooked up to the HDMI 2 port on the TV (which is the ARC port) and to the output on my amp. ARC is enabled on my amp.
I'm not fussed about the power control stuff, I don't mind using two remotes, however I cannot for the life of me get audio through my amp. Anyone got any tips? As far as i know everything is connected correctly and all the settings are right.
THe only clue I've got is that when I enable RIHD on the amp it informs me that no RIHD compatible device is connected. This is the same whether Viera Link is on or off.
I'm close to just buying an optical cable and doing it the old fashioned way, but i'd be resentful of doing this.
