Audio Software for adding splits

I know you can do this in Nero (proper nero not express) but you could easily do this in Audacity

So I recorded one of my music dvds and it generated a huge long file.
I need a free piece of software that will break it up into tracks if I enter in the 00:00:00 values at each break.
Is there software available to me?

Yup Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net will do the trick.

I would argue that it isn't the best free tool for audio though (but probably the best wave editor)

hehe i agree its the best free wave editor, but as free audio software goes somthing like Ardour or JACK in terms of how sophisticated they are beats it hands down.

But each to their own

Use DVD Decryptor in IFO Mode (check the streams you want and set to demux) then under IFO Mode settings set File Splitting to "By Chapter." This is assuming each track is a chapter on the DVD.
