Will my MacBook pro have the audio out via the mini display port?
It was bought about 2 weeks ago, but is a mid 2010 model.

Thanks

Yes it will with an HDMI adapter, I think audio is supported since the 13" macbook pro's came out (mid 2009 maybe).

Nice one, just ordered a new cable mini display port to hdmi so hopefully i can just plug it straight in to the tv upstairs.

Thanks

Just make sure you get the right MiniDP to HDMI adapter, some don't support audio. Also when you connect it to your TV you might need to alter the sound output manually. ;)

The Mid 2010 MBP's support it (not sure if the new ones do via the Thunderbolt port) but you need to use the correct Mini DP -> HDMI adapter. I personally use a Neet Mini DP -> HDMI adapter which works fine, you will need to set the audio output to HDMI in OS X manually.

You can find Neet stuff on the large river store - much cheaper than official Apple stuff and it's as good as official Apple gear if not better :)

Yeah i have ordered a cable that does audio too, it's mini display on one side and hdmi to plug straight into tv on the other.
