Audioslave frontman to do new Bond theme

What do they need Cornell for, I know exactly what he is going to make it sound like and I will do it for half the price! :D

And I think it goes a little somthing like this.

Alright maybe they do need Cornell to do it. ;)

thats awesome, i would go see the movie if this was the theme tune

Eva Green looks a little like Nigella Lawson before she put on loads of weight and became, well lets be polite and say rubenesque.

I dunno if Cornell is the right man to do it, I expect it is going to be rock based but its the wrong Bond (Pierce should have been forced to do it again at gunpoint anyway) I wonder if prehaps Daniel Craig should have somthing a bit darker or more contempory.

I'll probably recognise one of their more well known songs if i heard it. I like my music but i wouldn't say i'm really passionate enough to have heard of every single artiste. :)

I was discussing this with a friend a few days ago...

Most of the Bond songs are names after the songs, but have luckily yielded some fantastic results

View to a Kill
The Living Daylights
Lisence to Kill

But only a few haven't been named after the film...

Nobody does it better

But I think they have to mention the film title. Somehow I don't think Cornell's song will be called Casino Royale. I am curious to see what he will come up with, becuase it has been a while since he has done any solo material and it was generally very different from the Audio Slaves that he is now the slavemaster of...

Thought I'd revive this as Im a massive soundgarden fan and Cornell is my favourite male vocalist ever!

The first time I heard the song it just got on my nerves, but that was probably due to overplaying by those annoying casino royale adverts.

I've been listening to the whole song for a few days now, and its pretty good I think. You can definitely hear the cornell/soundgarden style coming through - the main riff sounds like something from superunknown. His voice kicks ass throughout, though I think at the end it breaks up a little too much for my liking, almost sounds like he's choking!

All in all, I like it and I'm glad Chris is getting some good promotion as he deserves it. Audioslave may be a shadow of the bands they replaced (soundgarden/ratm), but its nice to see him doing well regardless.

Quite possibly the worst Bond-theme ever. This isn't a dig at Chris Cornell's talent, but the song just did not fit. At all.

I can totally understand this. It did not strike me as a bond theme at all. More like a chris cornell pop-rock song but with a hint of orchestral overtures. I guess thats the reason it wont be on the soundtrack (but will be on cornells next release). I'm actually surprised that he was chosen for the gig in the first place!

To be honest, I think all of the post moore era theme songs have been either crap or simply not at all fitting.

The problem here is Cornell, the worst thing this guy ever did was hear Jeff Buckley and get involved in the putting together of "Sketches...".

Ever since that time he's been trying to change people perceptions of the great frontman he used to be.
