Austrian Grand Prix 2016, Spielberg - Race 9/21

Rosberg destroyed his ultras in 10 laps while Hamilton made them go 20+. There was zero reason to put Hamilton on the Softs.

Wasn't that down to Hamilton having a GP2 car behind him for a bit of the opening stint and Rosberg having to deal with traffic?

yes there is, softer tires are generally always faster for qualifying. Over a stint a softer tire is simply not always faster. Sometimes teams put a driver on mediums over softs not because they need the tires to last but because the tires were actually working better in the conditions.

German fans not happy. Good.

Or were they maybe some right-wing Austrians? Their recent President election is being re-run after some dodgy things happening (kids getting a vote; polling boxes opened by unauthorised people; whole villages having votes missing etc.), the right-wing candidate gets another chance to be elected after losing the first election by ~30000 votes.

Fans booing Lewis (not Nico for a change!) but for once I don't think you can even argue for both sides of the case. He was over half a car length ahead on the outside took a wide line and just got ran into!

Rofl good old ocuk... rosberg potential penalty.. ok it kinda sank in the first time.. dont need it repeating 15 times lol.

Hamilton frequently makes his tires last longer. Being in traffic is no where near the tire killer people make it out to be. Rosberg was just driving to a two stint pace, Hamilton was driving to a one stint pace. If Ham had been driving to a two stint pace the whole race he'd have never been behind Rosberg, not by a mile.
