Basically i've shot a 3x9 pano and Photoshop CS5 seems to be having trouble auto aligning some of the photos. I've sorted the horizon and it should align fine but keeps coming up with the message that they cannot align.

Is there anything else I can do/try so that it works?

Thanks.

I'll be interested to see if others can suggest a CS5 means of sorting your issue, but when all else fails me in CS5 I resort to using Hugin instead.

Hugin was confusing lol. With a little more playing with PS it's coming together.. ish.
But wow i didn't realise how sensitive the auto align is.. two photos wouldn't align, I corrected the barrel distortion by 1.5 (it's pretty much no change at all to those who haven't used the feature) and it worked :D

If I'm using Hugin I usually end up manually setting everything (including the common nodes). It seems a bit less fickle than photoshop (or more willing to accept certain distortions anyhow). I assume photoshop's stitching tries to only correct in terms of certain projections and lens corrections, and is unwilling to do arbitrary warp-like correction. Maybe it's not doing the lens corrections, though I thought there was a tick-box for that (and CS5 is pretty good with its online lookup).

Yup, tried many different combinations. Some have worked better than others, and i've got the main bulk of the pano stitched together, but there are still a few which really don't want to be put together. :( I've left it for now and processing some other photos, and then i'll go back to it.

+1 for ms ICE i find it can stitch pics that ps has rejected although the seams between the shots may need finishing off in places in ps. ICE also allows perspective adjustment which can help to align horizons ect.
