Does anyone happen to know of a website or program that is able to make "big words" from individual characters for use in text editors? I.e you type in the words and it spits out an array of characters that spells out your input text in a large format, but made up of smaller individual characters

I use a text editor a lot at work for editing analysis input decks, which can be tens of thousands of lines long. I was hoping to just have some visual method of scrolling through very quickly and navigating at a glance. I use ViM (Vi Improved) or UltraEdit text editors and can reasonably quickly navigate through using search/find etc. but just wanted to demarcate certain parts of the file with big headers. It will also help others checking the deck to navigate.

Something a bit like this?

***************************

H H EEEEE L
H H E L
HHHHH EEEE L
H H E L
H H EEEEEE LLLLLLLL ...... LO

******************

I got bored. By the way the 'big letter' doesn't have to be made up of the same 'small letter' which creates it. Any character would do.

Odd request I know, but someone out there must have done it? Right??

EDIT: OMG that looks terrible. It's supposed to say HELLO

Just google "ascii art generator", there's plenty of websites to help you.

Amazing, thanks - I knew there must be something out there, just didn't know what to search for to get decent results. Spot on. Cheers
