What a bunch of useless idiots!

I need to get my windscreen replaced as there is a huge crack on the passenger side of the windscreen and i booked it to get done today between 8am - 12pm.

So i get up at 8am and sit around waiting for them to arrive...

8am - nothing

9am - nothing

10am - nothing

11am - nothing

12pm - nothing

12.30pm - I phone them up and ask what's taking so long. The lady on the phone says that the Portsmouth branch will give me a ring in 5-10mins.

1pm - nothing

1.10pm - I needed to get home as i had stuff to do (booked it for my GFs house as i was there in the morning) so i phoned them up and asked if i could change where the job was done. The guy on the phone said that's fine.

1.20pm - Home. Autoglass Technician is already there and begins his job...

1:20:30pm - Door bell goes, Technician says "They've given me the wrong screen". I look at him confused  Basically there are 2 types of screens.
  1. Sensored
  2. Non-Sensored
They gave him number 1, i needed number 2.

He phoned up the branch and asked if they had any in stock and they don't.

I now have to wait another week before they have any and the crack is most likely going to get bigger

post that again and you will get suspended

Well today was the day that they were meant to come round and sort it out.

Guy arrived on time and the first thing he said was "They've given me the wrong windscreen!"

I wanted to kill him but it's not his fault! Have now had to re-book it for the 3rd time now! Have sent a complaint to them so hoping they get in touch soon!

Hmmmmm....

Had a windscreen broken on my mk4 Astra, Didn't want to go through my insurance as they add a loading.

called autoglass they wanted £360 phoned around and found an independant who did it for £85 which is actually £15 less than my excess!

As for quality of the screen, it's the same screen as was already fitted (by autoglass)

Auto windscreens are worse. They booked me in the first slot on a 7pm to midnight appointment on a Sunday to have a cracked screen replaced as they couldn't get anyone in the daytime where i work for a month. So they said, barring any emergencies, they'd be with me just after 7. When do you think they turned up? Nope, wrong..... 3:30am. They had the cheek to phone me at 1am asking if id like a wakeup call.

Then, when my side window was smashed, i asked for a temporary repair to happen that night. The appointment was 4pm to 9pm. I called them at 10 and they said they weren't coming out, he had no idea why - said he could see the appointment but that the technician had cancelled it. So my car was secured by a plastic bag for a week. Then when they came to do the permanent repair, they were 4 hours late!

I had my car just done by national windscreens.

turned up on time - guy knew his stuff and had it all done in 30 mins.

I have vowed never to use autoglass again after 2 crap jobs!

Had autoglass do my windscreen this morning, booked for an 8am-12pm slot, he turned up at 8.15am, new windscreen all in and done by 9am, can't complain at all really!

Was it a proper OE Glass replacement, or is it branded as autoglass on the screen anyway?

I know national windscreens order in screens from manufacturers and only use a direct replacement glass.

So will still have the "peugeot" etch markings on it etc for example.

Don't think so, says guardian or something on it, has similar markings on it to the original one but tbh it fits and is see through so is good enough for me!
