Autoglym High Definition Wax

Bought some the other week but weather has been too poo to try it, not cheap at £30 odd for a tub but has a 40% Carnauba content and should last a long time.

Seems to get good reports, anyone tried it yet ?

Looks good. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it when you get a chance to use it. I currently use Meguiars NXT but it doesn't seem to be any better than the "normal" waxes out there.

Yep tried it the other week, very impressed. Work sells it and I get 20% discount

I've only got crappy phone pictures but you get the idea...

Not too bad for a 7 year old ford

It needs to be very, very good for that money, when poorboys and victoria wax are both cheaper.

I got a tub of this for displaying my car at the PH show, didn't realize it was £30 a tub!
The packaging was very good, the wax itself im not to sure about, it did very very well, but then, I haven't had a chance to try it out properly yet with a polish etc etc.

What polish did you use before applying the wax?

If you want a decent polish, then dont look any further than the Autoglym super resin, it as fillers and a mild cut, so it can fill some minor swirls, and 'clean' the paint at the same time.

Dont bother with the Megs Paint cleanser, its not very good, tbh much of the megs retail stuff is over priced and not very good.

I cant reccomend the Collinite 915 highly enough, it just lasts so bloody long, and the finish is top class, victoria and poorboys,natty's blue,petes are all excellent choices (better finish than Collinite, but done last as long) and cheaper than the AG one posted above.

I'm no expert but basically I think it works like this..

washing - removes surface dirt etc
claying - removes bonded contaminates, tar etc
paint cleaner - removes light oxidation, swirls, scratches
polish - gives the high gloss finish and conditions / nourishes
wax - gives the final finish, seals it all in and protects..

Theres just so much stuff out there now to try.

Im using the sonus sfx stuff at the mo.

Hated the sonus stuff, used it twice and never again!

Looking to get the AG HD Wax next, and something like Dodo, not decided yet?!

I used it with a machine, cba with hand polishing now

Even scratchx is good with a machine.
