Automate a restart or shutdown

hey all,

i'm tyring to find a way to create a scheduled task that will restart my pc at a given time (could also use shutdown as an option as i can power up at given time from bios options)

doen some searching and all i have found has related to XP, tried the same operation (using shutdown.exe in the system32 folder) but the task executes and nothign happens!

suggestions please

Can you clear something up, do you want a particular program like an antivirus to run(lets say scan the pc) and then when finished it shuts the pc down OR do you just want a program that automates the shutdown process at a particular time? Make a batch file and use that as a scheduled task.

I use :-

SHUTDOWN -r -t 10

linky look like it may do the trick, but will try the .bat first

just use the .bat simple to do and works a treat
