Automated Car Washes

They can do. If the car in front of you has a chunk of grit on it that gets stuck to the bristles/rollers then it's going to scratch every car that goes through it afterwards until the grit falls off or is removed.

Same could be said for the brush on the jetwash though.

I use them, but then i drive a slow, cheap piece of crap that i couldn't care less about. When i get a better car then i'll treat it nicely.

I can see why a lot of people use them. Those that have communal parking etc.

I went home tonight to wash the car and the people next door were moving in taking up both sides of our shared drive, their band of helpers had parked all over the shop too so I decided to use the jetwash for the first time on the Octavia.

Now this will make me sound like a sad *rude word* but I was amazed when the shampoo came out of the brush not only smelling of bubble gum but also cycling through three different colours :D Within about 90 seconds my car looked and smelt like a giant marshmellow :p

I forgot that I took the detailer out of my car though as I normally give it a quick spray 'n wipe after so by the time I got it home it was a bit watermarked :(
