Just bought a new house, really excited about it, lots of potential but does need a bit of work.
Especially the garage door which is a mess :D So I thought we may as well take advantage and get an remote key fob operated, garage door.
The options are to install it myself which I'm happy to do except for the electrickery or get someone in.
Anyone care to offer some experiences of this? Some pointers, costings that may help?

Thanks

I suspect the electrical side of fitting the door should be fairly simple (at a guess it's low wattage and a simple job of wiring it in to either a fused spur or even just a plug?).
It's the sort of job I wouldn't worry about doing myself (and considered it for our garage, before deciding it wasn't worth the cost given we don't park the car in it).

I believe Screwfix do a kit for about £250 to £400 depending on the type of door you've got (iirc you need an extra bit for one type of door).

You looking @ £250-400 depending on what door you have and what sort of quality/warranty (all self install though) you want

Quite a few can be run off the mains via a 13amp plug so you dont always need a electrician

My parents have 2 electric doors. Both run off normal plugs to the electric motors.
No really hard electrical stuff really, apart from routing the wires from the motor to the nearest power supply.
