Automatic Licence question

Hi,

Quick question here... mate at work has asked if someone with an Automatic licence (because he lost a leg) can drive a semi automatic car...ie paddle shifters. I presume yes they would be allowed...but not 100% sure. Checked DVLA website but cant find anything in stone.

Any ideas ?

Automatic license = can drive any car without a clutch pedal.
