Automatic update of hyperlinks in Excel?

I want to hyperlink from one cell to another in excel.

For example. I've set cell A1 on sheet 1 to hyperlink to cell A1 on sheet 2. This works fine.

The problem comes when i insert a column above cell A1 on sheet 2. The hyperlink still links to A1 when i would expect it to link to A2.

Is there a way of doing this?

sorted it.

You have to name the cell and link to the name rather than linking to the cell. Then if that 'name' moves at all, the link is ok.

Thats interesting. How do you mean 'name' the cell?

He means create a named range for the cell/range itself.

To created a named range you can go to Insert -> Name, or just type the name in to the box where it lists the cell reference at the top left

only took half a day to work it out....never mind. Learning as we go
